The Cooperative Air Traffic Management Concept (CATMAC) is considered, in the framework of the German organization for flight safety. The improvement of the coordination between onboard/ground and aircraft/flight safety is outlined. The technical prerequisites are given. Terrain Referenced Information and Guidance Systems (TRIGS) is shown to contribute as an aircraft oriented landing area guiding system to the required increase of the system capacity. General aspects are considered, such as the reduction of workload in the cockpit, the safety increase in air and on the ground, the reduction of delays, and collision avoidance.
