The problems treated here are divided into six sections as follows: (I) Life in the universe; (II) The origin of life; (III) Establishing contact with extraterrestrial civilizations; (IV) Mars' satellites; (V) Discovery of a variable radiation source; and (VI) The Soviet Space-Communications Center.
