In recent years, the shipping world is under a cross fire of deep recessions, soaring fuel prices, increased labor costs and ever-tightening regulations. All these factors combined shall inevitably force existing tonnage into obsolescence except those the comparatively few ships which incorporate the necessary in order to cope with such abnormal developments.

In an endeavour to effectively cope with these internationally established changes, IHI have again joined with G.T.R. Campbell (International) Ltd. and developed the 22.000 LTDW “FRIENDSHIP” (FS) and 15.600 LTDW “FREEDOM MARK-II” (FV-II) two new types of ships included in our “F-SERIES” standard vessels as described in Exhibit “A” attached hereto.
