This paper describes the work in progress on bus priority at traffic signals, within the context of the European Commission's DGVII project INCOME (integration of traffic control with other measures) which also involves the European cities of Brussels, Gothenburg, Piraeus and Turin. The INCOME project is centred on integrated urban traffic management systems which are being developed in many European Cities on the platform provided by advanced urban traffic control. This paper concentrates on some of the early applications in London and the results obtained. Much of the work is focusing on sections of an 8km corridor on the Uxbridge Road in West London between Hanwell and Shepherds Bush.
