This paper points out the necessity for an exceptionally high degree of reliability throughout the arrangements tobe provided for operation of any underground railway, and it then describes the steps taken by the London Transport Executive to ensure freedom from interruption in the supply of electrical energy to all services upon which the movement of trains and the welfare of passengers depend.
