Regulated charging of electric vehicles (EVs) is crucial for the stability of the power system in large-scale EV adoption as a green mode of transportation. The operational complexity of unregulated EV charging can be resolved by dayahead scheduling. However, the day-ahead scheduling lacks in addressing the issue of charging emergency or prioritized vehicles with pre-scheduled EVs without stressing the network. In this paper, the proposed charging scheme comprises dayahead and real-time scheduling to accommodate two different types of vehicles, pre-scheduled and emergency, for charging. The day-ahead part allocates a charging slot for the prescheduled EVs, and the real-time scheduling accepts emergency and other prioritized vehicles for charging. Also, intermediate shifting is used to accommodate more EVs in both day-ahead and real-time scheduling. In addition, the direct load cut (DLC) technique is implemented in real-time adjustments under the worst-case scenario. Simulation outcomes show the effectiveness of the proposed charging scheme in accommodating pre-scheduled and prioritized real-time EVs.
