Meeting the climate control requirements established in the 2015 Paris Climate Change Agreement is a complex, far reaching, but doable challenge. As part of this agreement, governments around the world have pledged to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 °C above 2005 levels. Among other things, this agreement addresses the reduction of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) across all industrial sectors. With the Transportation Sector being one of the largest contributors of GHG emissions worldwide, replacing Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles with Electric Vehicles (EV) is viewed as one of the more effective ways to reach the goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. While the transition from ICE vehicles to 50% EVs by 2030 spans a myriad of policy and infrastructure issues, all EV manufacturers face significant common challenges in designing, producing, and supporting the growing EV population.
