The system may be unstable when grid-connected inverters are connected to weak grids. An active damper can connect to the point of common coupling (PCC) to simulate a resistor to suppress the resonance. The traditional active damper adopts the current source mode, and it is difficult to maintain the stability under the extremely weak grid. Therefore, this paper proposes a control strategy of the voltage source active damper based on droop control, which is applied to the resonance suppression of multiple inverters in weak grids. The control strategy has good self-stability in weak grids, which can effectively solve the resonance problem of the system in weak grids. In order to verify that the output impedance presents resistance characteristics, the sequence impedance model of the voltage source active damper based on droop control is established, and the sweep frequency verification is carried out. Finally, a simulation model is built in Matlab to verify that the proposed voltage source active damper based on droop control can effectively suppress the resonance problem of the system in weak grids.
