A voltage controller using thyristor switched capacitor (TSC) method integrated with Matlab/Simulink software has recently been researched for a stand-alone wind turbine operation using a squirrel cage induction generator (SCIG). Identical capacitor value in this method may cause higher costs and less effective operation. This study proposes a new stateflow control strategy for different capacitor values application using the same system, which provides a more cost-effective, efficient, and flexible system. The proposed design has been tested in Matlab/Simulink software on three-phase system simulation. The simulation is carried out by using a fixed generator speed while varying the load profile as the daily electrical equipment usage. The controller effectively controls the TRIAC gates connected to different capacitor values to add or remove the capacitors during the load variation. This study results show that steady output voltage could be maintained rapidly using different capacitor values connected to the system and the new stateflow controller method.
