Summary form only given. Optoelectronic spatial light modulators are 2-D arrays of detectors, electronic processors, and modulators or emitters that combine the processing strengths of electronics with the communication strengths of optics in a single device. Devices employing combinations of GaAs, silicon and liquid crystals will be discussed.
