The purpose of this study is a comprehensive analysis of the technological changes that have occurred in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (hereinafter referred to as UAVs) from their inception to the present, as well as identification of key trends and factors determining the future directions of the industry. The object of the study is the UAV technology. The subject of the study is aspects of the development of UAVs with the identification of key features in each of the periods. The article presents the key stages of technology development, as well as reveals the impact of innovative technologies on the process of transforming UAVs into a tool for transforming business ecosystems. The result of the study is a systematic look at UAV technology from the point of view of its potential application in various fields of activity.
