The interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) has the character of high power density. Because of the existence of the d-q axis cross-coupling effect, the variation of the motor parameters has a significant influence on the motor performance, especially under heavy load and high saturation conditions. The hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HIL) platform of PMSM in HEVs is based on a FPGA chip, in order to improve simulation accuracy, a 3-dimensional look-up-table (LUT) for inductance in d-q axis is constructed by using Verilog HDL. The LUT is presented to consider the cross coupling and saturation effect. Comparison under different conditions is carried out on the motor/generator(M/G) bench, the error between the HIL bench and the M/G bench reached 2.85%.
