When a vehicle is braking because of collision avoidance under the extreme conditions, such as braking on the lower adhesion coefficient road with high-speed, vehicle stability is difficult to be obtained. In order to take active collision avoidance during the emergency braking with high-speed on the lower adhesion coefficient road, a controller is built based on vehicle lateral and longitudinal dynamic coupling. A certain vehicle model of C-Class is built to analyze the vehicle braking stability at collision avoidance condition. At the same time, the fuzzy rules of PID model and the control strategies of the dynamic coupling controller are drawn up. The vehicle stability is analyzed using the vehicle angular velocity and vehicle lateral acceleration and longitudinal acceleration, etc. based on the coupling controller. The measured results show that the proposed coupling controller improves vehicle lateral stability for active collision avoidance at the emergency braking.
