Design and performance evaluation for power electronic converters are essential to meet their objectives, such as optimal efficiency, responding to load variations, and maintaining the desired outcome. These variations become critical when the power converter is used for transportation applications. Different design approaches for switched-mode power converters have been evolving, facilitated by software tools like the software frequency response analyzer (SFRA) for C2000ware. The suggested method involves online frequency response measurement for these converters. It also includes the analysis of the dynamic response of the converter and its corresponding compensators using the SFRA toolkit. The application of digital control methods accompanies this technique. This work uses a voltage-controlled buck converter as an illustrative example for implementing this approach.
