The article presents a frequency reconfigurable CPW feed antenna resonating at 1.59 GHz and 3.65GHz. Reconfiguration is carried out through switching on/off the PIN diode switch embedded with the antenna for modifying the current path of the radiator. As the switch is turned on, antenna resonates at 1.59 GHz and when the switch is turned off, antenna offers dual-band resonating at 1.55 GHz and 3.65 GHz. The paper has analyzed the current distribution and the functioning of the antenna at both the frequency. Using CPW feeding technique, by adjusting the gap between radiator and ground we have varied the impedance and got excellent matching. Simulated results of the reflection coefficient, current distribution, gain, and radiation pattern are presented.
