The growing need for power and the focus on green energy have led to a rise in the utilization of renewable energy resources (RES). Due to this, the microgrid has less inertia, which might lead to fluctuations in frequency and perhaps make it unstable. The automatic generation control (AGC), in a microgrid is in charge of upholding the frequency-regulating functions. In order to be utilized by AGC, measurement data must first be detected at a remote power system point and then sent to the controller terminals across a distance. Because of its hybridization, microgrid systems are increasingly vulnerable to new cyberthreats, underscoring the vital need for efficient cyberattack detection and mitigation technologies. AGC is taken into consideration while doing the research on cyberattacks. Cyberattacks targeted on AGC might cause instability and frequency deviation, which could lead to blackouts and other serious repercussions. Threats and assaults might target the communication network. The objective of the sensitivity analysis is to identify potential dangers that might lead to instability failure and where they could originate. On a multi-source hybrid microgrid, a range of assaults, including denial of service (DoS), fake data injection (FDI), and resonance attacks, are investigated. Different type of attacks such as DoS, FDI and resonance attack are implemented in this paper. Moreover, this paper focus on detection and mitigation of cyber-attacks on microgrids and provides insights into the future of cyber security in AGC.
