The rapid improvements in wireless networks have motivated vehicular companies to make self- organizing Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks (VANETs) to facilitate drivers. VANETs can facilitate and benefit people in many ways but there are some issues that concern the public, e.g., privacy of drivers. Researchers proposed to use pseudonyms to preserve user real identity, however, the location linkability is still the major concern in VANETs. The public will not accept it if the user's confidential information is revealed, e.g. location privacy. There is a need to protect vehicle user's location while not affecting driving experience. Various techniques have been proposed to protect location privacy, however, they are limited to non-safety applications. In this paper, we propose a novel location preserving scheme called Delay Constraint Location Privacy (DCLP) which ensures to provide drivers' privacy along with their safety. The simulation results show that the proposed DCLP outperforms other similar approach.
