Standardized Taxi Routes (STRs) are defined as published taxiing-in and taxiing-out routes for aircraft between gate and runway, aiming at improving ground movement at busy airports. Most of the STRs specify only one path between each O-D pair, which compromises the flexibility of route choice in dynamic traffic scenarios. In this research, We proposed an efficient CTM-based modeling approach to simulate the spatio-temporal evolution of airport surface traffic flow and congestion without considering certain granularities at the individual level. To facilitate efficient computation of system optimal solutions, we embedded the proposed CTM-based model in a Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA) framework, taking total taxiing time as objective and the time-dependent turning choice proportion at each diverging intersection as decision variables. The outcome of this paper will provide an approach to generate global optimal-based alternative routes (i.e., multiple published paths for each OD pair) for STRs-based surface operation and routing optimization, as well as future autonomous aircraft taxiing.
