Automation in the motor vehicles is the new phase of industrialization and the Virtual reality in the automated vehicles is a step forward for the novation and development of sustainable cities by changing the dynamics of road transportation. Virtual reality is used in order to explore the effects of the technology while reducing real-world risk and acts as an interface that communicates the intention of vulnerable road users to the automated vehicles. The paper reviews various techniques and methodologies of using VR (Virtual Reality) technique including CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks), Deep Learning, Advanced Driver Assistance systems (ADAs), Human-computer Interface (HCI) and pose estimation methods. The paper mainly emphasized on the interaction of AVs to the cyclists and pedestrians and their behavior in front of any vehicle whether automated or not. At Last, the paper demonstrates the challenges with regards to the usage of VR technique in automated vehicles and laid down some suggestions for the smooth running of AVs and their proper regulations.
