The paper presents the preliminary results of numerical analysis and strength tests of the composite blade of a autogyro main rotor. The conducted tests made it possible to verify the developed design in terms of ensuring safety during flight. Example test results of the blade made of three layers of carbon-epoxy composite (CFRP) in [45/0/-45] configuration are presented. The behavior of the blade under a given load was investigated. The displacement and failure rate of the composite material were analyzed using the finite element method. Testing on a test machine made it possible to analyze the displacement due to a given load. In addition, the form of damage that occurred for the maximum value of the breaking force was analyzed. Complementing the conducted tests was the analysis of the blade deformation using the digital image correlation method. The developed geometry of the blade, combined with the defined material configuration, showed high load resistance in the form of lifting force, drag force and centrifugal force.
