Wide voltage range DC-DC converters use different topological modifications or complex modulation schemes to cover the full range of voltage. However, certain applications do not require the coverage of the full voltage range but distinct voltage levels. Applications with two converter systems of AC-DC and DC-DC converters utilize the capabilities of both the converters to achieve the required output voltages. SRC converter have been known to be used for fixed voltage ratio operation. Using mode switching, SRC converters can facilitate dual voltage gain operation. This simple technique ensures high efficiency without compromising on simplicity. Use of loss cycling between half-bridges further improves the converter reliability.
