Strong field ionization measurements of xenon from 10/sup 13/ W/cm/sup 2/ to 10/sup 18/ W/cm/sup 2/ show enhanced rescattering ionization for charge states as high as Xe/sup +10/ and a multiphoton/tunneling ionization character dictated by the Kepler orbit time.
