The diversity of damping forms in dynamic vibration absorbers leads to different vibration absorption effects of different dampers, so how to choose them is still a problem to be solved. In the ship propulsion shafting, the vibration absorber is installed in parallel with it and regarded as a simple damping system. The formula of force transmission rate, which between the forces transmitted to the bearing base and the excitation force was established, and the optimal damping ratio and stiffness range was calculated. On this basis, the optimal solution was achieved by controlling the natural frequency ratio and the rotational speed of the shafting. The vibration absorption effect was compared by drawing the vibration amplitude diagram of shafting. The results show that, on average, Vibration absorption effect of square damping is good, while that of dry friction damping is relatively weak. The rotating speed can be adjusted to match different vibration absorbers for a better vibration reduction effect.
