Metis is a coronagraphic instrument mounted on-board the Solar Orbiter mission. Solar Orbiter is dedicated to study the solar and heliospheric physics from a close and inclined orbit around the Sun. Its launch is expected in February 2020.Metis features two channels to study the solar corona in two different spectral bands: in the UV at the Lyman α 121.6 nm and in the visible 580-640 nm.During the last two years, the Metis instrument has been built, aligned and calibrated.
