Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) as a global standard, based on fifth generation (5 G) technology, opens new opportunities to enhance reliability and efficiency, improve security and performance of the railway transport. By embracing the 5 G mission critical service options, FRMCS will enable automated train operation, smart rail maintenance, improved passenger experience, and optimized management support systems. The strong dependability of robust connectivity poses challenges related to security and privacy. As the FRMCS standards are still under development, this paper identifies the required functionality for secure FRMCS user registration management and proposes an approach to synthesize this functionality as RESTful services.
