The effects of light fluence and irradiance on the long-period fibre gratings (LPFG) inscription process in H/sub 2/ loaded and H/sub 2/ outdiffused Ge-doped fused silica fibres under femtosecond 264 nm laser irradiation was investigated. A typical transmission spectrum for the fabricated LPFG was presented and the thermostability studies for gratings were performed.
