This paper is concerned with the reentry maneuver control strategy of a new type lifting reentry vehicle called common aero vehicle (CAV). First, the configuration and design performance of CAV are presented. Consequently the reentry conditions of CAV are introduced. Next, dynamics equations of motion are set up through assuming that the gravitational field is central and governed by the inverse square law. Last, reentry maneuver control strategy of CAV is studied in detail and simulation results are obtained. Based on this control strategy, CAV can hold good maneuver capability at cross-range and down-range.
