China is about to fully implement the national VI-B standard. In the revision of the next stage emission standard for light vehicles, it is expected to add the China Light Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) on the basis of the existing World Light Vehicle Test Cycle (WLTC) certification, in order to achieve the requirements of coordinated development of energy consumption and emission standards, and conduct cold-start tests for automobiles. Based on this, three fuel vehicles were selected, and during the first-phase test, data such as THC, CO, NOx and particulate matter (PN) emissions, as well as fuel consumption data, were collected in real-time. According to the real-time emission data, the key factors affecting emissions under both WLTC and CLTC were analyzed. On the aspect of fuel consumption, a quantitative analysis and evaluation were conducted on idle, acceleration, deceleration, and constant speed conditions based on different cycle characteristics. The impact of out-of-cycle technologies, such as idle-stop and brake energy recovery systems, on energy consumption was also explained.
