This paper explores the application of a Triple active bridge (TAB) converter within direct current (DC) microgrid systems. DC microgrids are emerging as a promising solution for distributed energy systems, offering increased efficiency and flexibility compared to traditional AC grids. Renewable energy sources integration, such as photovoltaic (PV) systems, energy storage systems like batteries, and DC loads, presents a significant challenge in modern power systems. The triple-active bridge converter offers a versatile solution for efficiently managing power flow between these components in DC-based systems. This article explores the application of a TAB converter in scenarios where PV input, battery storage, and DC loads are interconnected. The TAB converter facilitates bidirectional power flow, enabling efficient energy conversion, grid stabilization, and seamless integration of renewable energy sources and ESS (energy storage systems). Through the application of TAB converters in DC microgrids, significant advancements can be achieved in enabling sustainable and resilient power distribution systems, thus contributing to the transition towards a greener and more reliable energy infrastructure. The proposed converter is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink software, and all the required waveforms are presented.
