In frequency diverse array multiple-input–multiple-output (FDA-MIMO) radar, the detection performance can be improved effectively after multichannel coherent integration. Since a coupling between frequency offset and range in FDA-MIMO radar is presented, when range error or Doppler effect caused by frequency offset exists, the gain of multichannel coherent integration may significantly decrease. To address this issue, a multichannel coherent integration algorithm for range-frequency offset coupling compensation in FDA-MIMO radar is proposed in this article. When the search area of angle and range is sufficiently large, the computational complexity of the proposed algorithm is superior to that of MUSIC and Capon algorithm. Moreover, the robustness of the proposed algorithm is the strongest among these algorithms when there is an error in range or the Doppler effect exists. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm are verified by simulation experiments.
