We analyze the performance of conventional and parametric superresolution algorithms. Simulations provide quantitative comparisons of algorithm performance. In our tests, we study the effectiveness of parametric algorithms in sensors with differing noise characteristics, mask patterns, and detector resolutions. Parametric algorithms are less sensitive to increasing noise, and display dramatic improvements over conventional routines, but benefit only proportionally from higher pixel counts.
