To study the effect of injecting cooling water on the cooling characteristics of the of liquid-oxygen kerosene engine exhaust plume impact, the three-dimensional numerical simulation of the liquid oxygen/kerosene engine plume impact flow field on the groove with the conical diversion device has been carried out by using the Computational Fluid Dynamics software, and impact flow fields under different water injection conditions have been calculated and compared. It is found that, the farther the axial distance of the nozzle position, the less cooling effect of the cooling water to the exhaust plume and the diversion device. When the cooling water is injected to the exhaust plume at a velocity opposite to the gas flow direction of the exhaust plume, the vaporization efficiency of the cooling water can reach the maximum by fully mixing. When the cooling water is injected to the exhaust plume at a velocity perpendicular to the exhaust plume, the cooling water can produce a larger low temperature area to achieve the best cooling effect.
