The transition toward cleaner energy sources is an undeniable reality, and hydrogen, due to its properties, emerges as an attractive option. However, the storage and transportation of hydrogen pose significant challenges in realizing the full potential of a hydrogen-based economy. Tube trailers offer a promising solution, providing ease of transportation while considering technology readiness, safety aspects, and transportation economics. The present study investigates the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen Transportation (LCOHT) from an Indian perspective. LCOHT is computed for Jodhpur, Rajasthan, considering cumulative energy demand and the distance between production and demand locations. The LCOHT varies between ₹117.21/kg and ₹148.05 /kg for 350 bar trailers, and ₹130.19/kg to ₹178.61/kg for 540 bar trailers in the daily demand range of 2000 kg/day to 10000 kg/day notably, capital costs for trucks and trailers constitute almost half share of the LCOHT. Additionally, the study explores the variation of LCOHT with increasing demand and observes the impact of transportation velocity.
