Federal Agencies have been tasked to prioritize the modernization of their systems; However, this may be more challenging for systems that support a critical mission. Known Challenges: • Lack of cyber security expertise: — It is currently reported that by 2020, there is expected to be deficit of 1.5 million cybersecurity experts globally according to ISC. • Use of outdated, legacy technology throughout the Federal Government — Federal agencies have reported over 930 million lines of code using more than 70 legacy programming languages.
