We demonstrate the optomechanical platform at the heart of new solutions for channel-power equalization and dynamic gain equalization. The platform is a combination of free-space micro-optics, diffraction grating (DG), polarization diversity, and attenuator array technologies, such as liquid crystal (LC) or MEMs. The flexibility of the platform allows one to build the whole family of channel equalizers, wavelength blockers/switches, and dynamic gain equalizers on the same basic set of optical components, packaging, and electronics.
