In recent years, Cloud computing has emerged as an extensively used technology in IT sector. With increase in use of Cloud computing, it has become more prone to intrusions. Even a small intrusion attack can compromise entire system, hence intrusion can be considered as a critical issue for cloud-based platforms. In this research work, we have tried to understand overall view of cloud computing, intrusion detection systems & their types as well as earlier work done in this field. In particular, we have proposed an algorithm for Hybrid Intrusion Detection that can be implemented in private cloud environment to enhance security and performance of the system.
