Solar energy is abundant and sustainable, and photovoltaic (PV) cells can convert it into electricity. PV system power generation is affected by factors like temperature and solar irradiation and impacted by PV panels' non-linear characteristics. MPPT technologies enable PV systems to adapt to changing weather conditions and increase production. This paper models and simulates MPPT in a grid-connected PV system using a Perturb and observe (P&O) technique. To run at MPP, the PV array model is coupled to a DC-DC boost converter that operates on MPPT block output pulses. Simulation findings indicate that the P&O technique results in improved efficiency owing to its simplicity and effectiveness in monitoring the maximum power point (MPP) under quickly changing environmental circumstances. Additionally, P&O algorithms may be used in real-time control systems.
