The Meta-Material (MM) encompasses various unique properties viz. negative index of refraction, -∊ & -μ, backward wave propagation which embellish the performance of antenna. The paper emphasizes on the incorporating MM lens with dual band antenna for enhancing its performance parameters viz. gain, directivity, main lobe level, bandwidth, radiating power and maximum power per unit area. The coaxial feed U-slot patch antenna is designed in CST to operate at dual bands viz. 2.45 GHz and 3.65 GHz. These operating frequencies are selected in the popular ISM Band, which is primarily useful for WLAN application, defined by standards such as IEEE802.11b (2.45 GHz) and IEEE802.11y (3.675 GHz). An innovative approach to improve the antenna parameters is demonstrated by incorporating Meta-Material (MM) as a Lens. The gain at 2.45GHz frequency has been improved from 5.18 dB to 8.4 dB (96.33%), whereas at 3.65GHz it has been enhanced from 3.908 dB to 4.408 dB (12.20%). The MM lens strengthens the other antenna parameters such as directivity, power radiated, efficiency etc and embellishes the performance of the entire antenna system by improving the overall efficiency by 2.77% at lower band and by 29.36% at upper band.
