This paper reviews the optimization of traffic flow through C-ITS in relation to public transport. In particular, a new model of traffic signal control based on C-ITS frame was constructed and it focuses on improving the traffic speed and reducing the emission of public transport by avoiding unnecessary stops at signalized intersections. The investigations were carried out in a simulation as well as in the C-ITS test area Kassel.
