The driver drowsiness detection system using Arduino paper seeks to address the issue of driver drowsiness while also promoting road safety. The system detects indicators of driver tiredness and sends timely alerts using Arduino, a microcontroller platform. The system continuously checks the driver's state by integrating a camera and different components such as a buzzer, liquid crystal display (LCD), and light emitting diode (LED). The device sounds an alarm if the driver's eyes are closed for a lengthy period of time, indicating drowsiness. The buzzer sounds, the LCD displays a “Please wake up” message and an LED is illuminated, alerting the driver to a potentially hazardous scenario. In contrast, when the driver opens their eyes, the mechanism deactivates the alarm. The buzzer stops, the LED dims, and the LCD shows a message indicating that the driver is alert and in a safe driving condition. Overall, the initiative provides an effective and cost-effective solution to driver drowsiness, hence improving road safety and preventing accidents caused by fatigue-induced lapses in attention.
