In recent years deployment of multi-satellite constellations into low Earth orbits has been one of key areas of development for both Earth remote sensing and the space industry in general. Directly related to the growth of satellite constellations is the increasing amount of space debris – a problem which has garnered a great deal of the scientific community's attention. This paper explores in detail one of the solutions to this problem, specifically the use of aerodynamic devices for deorbiting Earth remote sensing small satellites at the end of their life cycle. Several possible designs of aerodynamic deorbiting systems are described and analyzed in the course of this work. As a result of this work a novel solution for configuration of aerodynamic systems has been developed. Proposed solution includes a design image of the aerodynamic deorbiting system for Earth remote sensing nano- and small satellites, and a modeled descent process.
