The new electric car is a vehicle with special needs in all aspects. Tires are one of the most important, so from the Workroom on Renewable Energy a new granular composite for tires has designed. It is formed by a series of beach sand ground particles embedded in a matrix ground urethane rubber. The urethane rubber is a material that degrades early. It serves to give cohesion to the ground sand particles. In this way it is obtained a composite material of high mechanical strength to minimize the wear and noise level. These two objectives are the ones that the big tire companies worldwide are trying to get. The more efficient is a tire, the more efficient are the electric car. When greater efficiency is achieved in the design of the tire, the less energy it will require, and greater autonomy will have the electric car.
