This paper summarizes the results of an activity dedicated to the test and comparison of different Target Motion Analysis (TMA) tracking architectures on simulated data. TMA is one of the most challenging functions that is needed for the successful operation of the own-ship platform. The final goal of an effective TMA architecture is to deliver to the operator an automatic indication of the kinematic state of a target located in the observation space of the platform. TMA tracking is a non-linear problem for which an optimal solution is practically not available. Up to nowadays various approaches have been proposed and described in the technical literature that try to get close to the optimal solution. The simulation tool presented in this paper has been developed in order to compare the results obtained by these different algorithms in correspondence of selected realistic scenarios.
