The multiwavelength picosecond stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in germania-doped silica fibers was studied in the 5-45 mole% dopant concentration range. Based on an overtone band positions the vibrational anharmonicity constants were calculated. The "harmonization" effect for the silica tetrahedron vibrations in highly Ge-doped fibers was discovered and interpreted. Some practical applications of picosecond SRS spectroscopy for microstructural glass studies were discussed.
