The DC ship propulsion system features advantages such as high-power density, good installation adaptability, and high operational efficiency. However, existing typical DC ship power distribution systems have drawbacks, including long fault transfer times and large converter footprints. This study proposes a novel ship DC power distribution system with a dual-bus power converter, which can reduce the size of the converter and rapidly isolate the faulty bus in the event of a bus fault. This study introduces, analyzes, simulation and experiment verify the proposed topology, proving its potential in shipboard systems.
