In order to maximize the evacuation capacity for the cruise ship without sacrificing the utilization rate of the interior space in the cruise, it is necessary to undertake optimization analysis for the layout of the functional zone. Based on the classic social force model, this paper develops the impact model of cruise functional zone layout by combining the improved social force model with the evacuating feature constraint. The improved social force model takes into account the motion features of occupants in different functional zone in the cruise ship during the evacuating process, proposes the concept of influential parameters between different functional regions, and corrects the driving-force in the basic model. Driven by the social force model, the objective function is established based on the total evacuation time. The constraint conditions of the single functional zone including the response time, the speed, etc. Moreover, this paper considers another two factors, the constraints of social force model considering the influence of function interval based on evacuation network topology, and the corresponding total evacuation time. The aim is to find the functional zone layout plan with the shortest total evacuation time on the single deck of the cruise ship. Anylogic simulation software is utilized to setup the classic layout model and the optimized layout model. The fourth deck of the “Quantum Ocean” cruise ship is used as the case for study. The simulation results show that the optimized layout of the functional zone can reduce the evacuation time after an emergency in the cruise ship, improve the evacuation effect.
