Using the Markov-parameters (MPs) and time-moments (TMs) of both the higher-order (HO) system and lower-order (LO) model, a higher-order single-input-single-output (SISO) DC-DC converter system is reduced to the required lower-order model in this contribution. An objective function is framed by utilizing these TMs and MPs. Furthermore, the minimization of the thus framed objective function is carried out by elephant herding optimization (EHO) to find the unknown coefficients of the obtained lower-order model. A thorough comparison of time-domain specifications and different error indices of HO DC-DC system and LO model is presented. Additionally, step response, bode response, Nyquist response, and error response of the system and model are plotted to prove the effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed methodology.
