High-speed asymmetric Fabry-Perot modulators (AFPMs) could make extremely high-aggregate-bandwidth photonic switching systems a reality. Here I review our work on the design, fabrication, and mm-wave electrical and optical characterization of AFPMs with >35-GHz frequency response.<>
