The smart home systems and IoT has seen major developments in recent times. The furtherance in this field has been exceptional and innovative advancements have been made specifically in surveillance field. With the Smart home systems, the security can be enhanced by using unmanned vehicles which includes robotic cars, aerial vehicles like drones etc. This work mainly aims at contributing to the advancement with a novel approach of employing laser detection, sound recognition and face recognition in a robotic car for the security system accompanying smart home system. The smart home system includes the voice command-based appliance control system which can be assisted by a custom-made mobile application. The surveillance robotic car will be alerted with any unusual changes detected by the laser detection system and hence detects any human intervention in the area under surveillance. The robotic car programmed with the obstacle avoidance algorithm allows the car to complete the task without any hindrance due to the unavoidable obstructions.
