Decision makers must minimize probable risks, to dispose hazards which may occur parallel to developing technology in today's operational environment and to provide security and survival. In process of risk management; scientific studies are made on composing factors of risk and different models are tried to minimize risk. Main objective of risk management is to reduce subjectivity and make risks visible and measurable for decision mechanisms. Risk can never be minimized to zero. Hence; risk management process, which will catch optimum level in operation, is pursued. Plannings are separated to risk levels, considering risk's occurrence rate and its hazard in risk evaluation process, as a part of risk management. As the most critical phase of operation; decision given about selecting weapon systems and usage depend on low, medium and high risk levels. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), penetrate into operations day by day, they will replace human based systems at the future. Thus, institutions can take a big step about sustaining personnel's safety and their survival. Decision makers should take acceptable risks from risk management principles. With UAV, acceptable risk content and extent are widening. In this study, UAV's activity in risk management process will be analyzed, while decision makers make operation planning, their gain with including unmanned aerial systems to risk management process will be probed.
